Last year, my guild rebranded with a new logo. We held a challenge to create a small, abstract quilt using the colors of the new logo and a geometric shape. This is a study of the equilateral triangle in fabric and quilting. I used Adobe Illustrator to design and create full sized paper templates to build the top. I made sure that all piecing had the grain of the fabric going in the same direction. It is easy to turn a 60-degree triangle the wrong way. I wanted to work in some kind of three dimensions. The small floating triangles are mini quilts, suspended over the background by their own quilting threads. Two layers of six-ounce cotton batting give the quilting extra dimension. @jeffwarnerquilter
