The maze of life has many twists and turns, pathways and road blocks. It's easier to make right turns, but sometimes you have to turn left. I used red and white based on my love for traditional American red and white quilts, but added many varieties of each color to add depth. The improvisational cutting, design and piecing give a nod to some traditional quilt blocks, but the key to the design is the use of negative space or figure/ground tension to confuse what's important and hold the viewer's interest.
