There’s something about repetition and its monotony that can be liberating. Each block was an adventure to find a combination of colors that created an eyeful of bliss. I’d get a tingle when I found the perfect coupling - the right context to shine. And each block had a unique energy or mood to it. But then I had to take each perfect block out of its blissful isolation and surround it with other perfect blocks. I’m not sure if this quilt’s whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
