Walled is a minimalist design that was inspired by a city wall surrounding the square in Essaouira (Morocco). The original photograph shows the stark contrast of the pink city wall against the stark blue sky. The length and width of the wall influenced the width and length of the quilt. The original design mimicked the square pattern of the wall top but when saving the digital design, a computer error removed some of the color fill and lines in places. It was perfectly random feature and was used in this final piece.
