All I knew is I wanted to make lighthearted shapes that had personality and character. I started with one little creature, I liked the way it looked so I started making variations. The creatures starting talking to one another. I played with different backgrounds but when I placed the creatures on black, they came alive. I imagined these creatures coming out at night happily playing but during the day, frozen in cloth. When I quilt, I use the needle like a pencil, drawing more than quilting to embellish the shapes with fun and creativity. The quilting is window dressing for the quilt.
