The Twist was created by making two identical quilts, cutting a circle from one and then appliqueing it on the other. Once the extra fabric was cut away and seams pressed flat, the large circle nestled right in looking like it always belonged there. There are no repeats amongst the print fabrics - at least there are not supposed to be so if you find one, don’t tell me! - and the black bits came from my scrap bin. Mono-poly thread was used to keep the thread color from interfering with the design yet still create a fun texture. Every part of the creative process for The Twist was very enjoyable and I was both a bit surprised and extremely excited that it turned out as hoped.
