This quilt was created in response to the Maximalist theme. I created a big bold black and white quilt pattern that looks like tire tracks -hence the name Treaded. Solid and patterned fabrics were used to differentiate the quilt pattern design. I used all my bold prints and saturated solids to create a loud, busy, maximalist look. I used cotton batting and my domestic Juki to quilt small diagonal lines with mono-poly thread. This thread is almost invisible and keeps from detracting from the patchwork itself. I used scrappy binding for fun. It was fun working outside of my comfort zone with the bright colors. If interested, I blog about my quiltmaking at GailLizette.com
