The sinuous shapes and lines composing Undulation derive from several sources: movement, pregnant bodies, my pencil doodles, and the peg-leg bottom derived is from a previous quilt of mine. Overlapping shapes form transparencies in the colors. Intersecting planes break up the space to further give the illusion of depth. Use of a very fine thread in matching colors adds a rich texture and allows the viewer to focus on the graphic nature of the composition.
