Untitled #4 begins at the center: with a mustard band flanked on either side with vibrant pink and peach silk. There is an intentional placing of dull gold zari strips – salvaged from an old saree – slightly off-center to add a detail of surprise. A thin blue selvedge on the edge of this central panel adds an asymmetric touch. Surrounding this center panel is a field of purple and green handwoven 'Mangalgiri' cloth that changes colour with light. The large blue grey field that frames this quilt picks up the central colours, bringing forth an unusual colour palette. A subtle quilt with hints of surprise, pieced in an improvisational style.
