Summer Lovin' embodies sweetness of summer. When I look at this quilt I am reminded of all the things that my family was involved in during the summer I made it, including late nights and long days. I pieced it in the morning hours while the house was still quiet before the heat of the day set in, I sewed the blocks together while watching my husband play beach volleyball, and I showed off the quilt top to my local MQG on a field trip to a stained glass studio. Like most of my projects, this one went with me everywhere, so there are little bits of summer memories worked into it. This was the first quilt that I made entirely by hand sewing, which seemed unfathomable when I started it.
