I designed this foundation paper pieced block with a rounded top and sharp points. Then I started playing with it by rotating it and discovered the pill shape. I modified my block proportions a little bit to enhance the pill shape. As soon as I started seeing the design as a pill, with the capsule coloring changing at the strong horizontal, I knew I needed to name it Jagged Little Pill, after Alanis Morissette's song and album that was released while I was in college. This quilt was intended to be a stash buster, using many solids from my stash along with the light pink background. I chose the hot pink for the scallops because I love hot pink as a "neutral." The quilting was done by me on my domestic machine but the design was suggested by Christina Lane.
