Broken Trellis was inspired by the gardens at Schwetzingen Palace, in Germany. Close to where the artist lived in Germany. She loved visiting these serene gardens, so well maintained and always something new to find. There was a broken trellis in one of the gardens that held up plants. It had been there a while and was decayed and broken. It fascinated the artist that it continued its function. The trellis is represented in white solid fabrics and a variety of Anna Maria Horner fabrics were used to represent the garden in all its colors.
