(PCG005) Bloombox

This design, a variation of which I posted as Sunday sketch #373, relies heavily on repetition and symmetry – both of which I often seek to avoid in my modern quilt designs. By overlapping the petals of adjacent flower shapes, I created an opportunity to play with colour and transparency. I left the flowers quite blocky and formless, so that the overall design becomes a jumble of lines and shapes.
