Are the concepts of Negative Space confusing but intriguing to you? Then this workshop is for you! Negative Space is not just empty space. Using materials (paper, pens, colored pencils) and a variety of design prompts students will explore some attributes of negative space (placement, scale, and color). After mastering the foundational attributes, you can create a quilt design that uses positive and negative elements to create space that produces interest or interactions in your design. Small group discussion will be used to share your design and get feedback and see how others interpret negative space in their designs.
NOTE: Students can opt to design using a device and an application like Procreate, but instruction will not include application usage.
