Required Supplies: Fabric - a variety of 2" strips, ranging from 8"; 16"; 24" in length for the three rounds of 3 x 3 Granny Square blocks quilt, but extending to longer 2" strips if wanting to do the one giant Granny Square quilt.
Other supplies: - Fabric Glue Pen and refills*
- Small cutting mat and rotary cutter - shared cutters and mats will be provide but you may wish to bring your own to maximize class time
- Hand Sewing needles - Karen's preference is Sue Daley size 11 Milliner's needles*
- 80wt thread (or 50 wt if don't have) - Karen's preference is Aurifil
- Paper templates (print out or purchase)*

Prep Requirements: If you want to get ahead: 1. Cut out any printed templates you are using. If you have purchased templates from me they will come all ready to use. 2. Cut your fabric into 2" squares ready to use.
Spend a few hours working on a fun English Paper Piecing pattern that is versatile and offers the ability to alter both the layout and size of the finished piece enabling the maker to put their own stamp on it! If you are new to English Paper Piecing, this is a great pattern to start with as the octagon shape sews together with ease. In this workshop, learn three different stitches and other tips and tricks to gain confidence in this transportable mindful hand sewing technique. Students will review different methods of basting the pieces, with thread or glue, and discuss the pros and cons for both.
