Required Supplies: - Pick one positive/uplifting word to sew (a 4 - 8 letter word)
- 1 yard of background fabric to get started
- 1 yard total for letters (large cut of one color or smaller cuts of multiple colors)
- Hand sewing needle & thread of choice - neutral thread will be provided but you are welcome to bring your thread of choice
- Fabric Scissors - shared scissors will be provided as well
- Paper Scissors - shared scissors will be provided as well
Optional Supplies: Personal set of mini cutting mat, 5” acrylic ruler, & mini rotary cutter would be helpful for this workshop to maximize class time.
Prep Requirements: - Read through the pattern pdf - Pre-print all block pattern pieces needed for each letter of your word (choose the 3”or 4” size), link to pattern will be sent to students via email.
We all have something to say. Be it a short and sweet message or a favorite quote from a song or book, we've got you covered with this fun and easy font. Come learn how to sew basic foundation paper piecing sections and curved pieces to create your special message. Two sizes will be offered in this new font pattern to allow students to sew their own message as a wall hanging or cuddly quilt of any size. Students will also be provided the tools to map out their own individual messages! Sewing machines generously provided by event sponsors!
