NOTE: Materials fees are required for some workshops. These fees are paid directly to faculty and are not part of your registration fee. Sold Out?: Yes
Required Supplies: - A small bottle of school glue with a precision tip (tips can be purchased online)
- Ten quilt binding clips
- 1/4 – 1/2 yard pre-quilted fabric (available at craft stores and some quilt shops), cut into 2 fat quarters; OR two 10x20 practice-quality quilt sandwiches (one layer top and bottom, with batting in between, and machine quilted in any style no more than four inches apart). NOTE: Sizes are approximate, but you do want a rectangle with two of the sides at least 16’ long to practice joining binding ends. The other sides can be shorter – as short as about 8”. We will work with just one sandwich, but it’s good to have a backup.
- 1/2 yard of quilting cotton, at least 44” wide, starched well and cut into 2.5” by 44” inch strips. Please do NOT cut these on the bias, and please use starch, not a pressing spray. Starch provides necessary hold, both during your travel to QuiltCon and during binding.
- Thread in your choice of color - neutral thread will be provided.
- Fabric scissors - Shared scissors will be provided but you may wish to bring your own to maximize class time
Prep Requirements: If students are not purchasing pre-made quilted fabric, they will need to make two 10x20 practice-quality quilt sandwiches (one layer top and bottom, with batting in between, and machine quilted in any style no more than four inches apart).
