Required Supplies: - Fabric: 8-10 fat quarters of coordinating and contrasting fabric (prints are recommended, as they will showcase the pattern matching aspect of the workshop the best)

Improv quilts can be a whole new level of fun, and easier for some, when you add constraints. Working with specific rules allows you to play freely in that space without pressure from the unknown. In this workshop, Allie will guide you through an improv quilt where every block has the same rule, an inset X, while showing how much room there is to play in that space. Students will learn how to use inset strips, pattern match when inserting fabric strips, and how to create the illusion of movement across a quilt. Sewing machines generously provided by event sponsors!
