Katherine is the owner of The Mountain Thread Company, a shop in Blowing Rock North Carolina that specializes in coiled rope baskets and rope basketry supplies. She comes from a long line of Appalachian quilters, and began sewing in preschool with her mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Katherine lives in the mountains of North Carolina with her husband, children, dog, and chickens.
