Above the Cairns (stacking stones seen from above) started as a fairly straightforward design, if you can call a Drunkard’s Path quilt straightforward. It emerged as 3D/origami when a ‘folded’ border was added. Then changes in colour value were discovered to increase the depth, and the quilting by longarmer Iva Steiner (a favourite collaborator of mine) added perspective.
