This Bee Quilt by @sewbeeitchs came from visiting Hawaii a few years ago and running across the Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree. The colors in the bark screamed a future quilt to me. Six members of the Charleston Modern Quilt Guild got together and using these palettes of Kona colors and the keyword “Strength” designed and constructed this quilt. The prompts were to make a 12”x24” both vertical and one horizontal improv blocks. Members used both literal as well as abstract interpretations – from “Internal Strength” to “Strength of Women” to inspire the blocks.
