I love when a design makes your eye travel across the full space of the layout. With this design, I wanted the colours to intertwine in a logical but seemingly impossible way. I played with colour values to help imply a sense of movement and included tonal "shadows" to construct a sense of depth and dimension. I used 4 colours (orange, pink, teal, and green) in 5 values each (including the shadows). The straight line stitching in the quilting follows the movement of the shapes, and in some areas it leads from the coloured spaces into the background area, creating even more movement and a tension between the foreground and background. The name hints at the convoluted movement of folded fabric coming and going at the same time.
