The design was inspired while traveling to see my grandsons in Colorado. While waiting on my flight out of Dallas-Ft. Worth airport I noticed the carpet. It made me think of the lines of travel. Our journeys are never a straight line or a direct route. They can be long/short or intersect/parallel. This quilt was a part of my local quilt guild’s Kona Color of the Year Challenge. In this challenge we were to use the Kona Color for that year (2023) which was crush. The background is Kona navy and the small strips are capri and crush. The capri and crush strips represent the travels made by roads and the quilting in the 12 weight Aurifil - Blossom Pink (#2530) and 12 weight Aurifil – Light Turquoise (#5006), represent air travel. The background was quilted using 50 weight Aurifil – Dark Navy (#1422)
