Mini Bloom was created with left over blocks from a large quilt I made taking part Pantone Quilt Challenge featuring the Pantone colour of the year 2023: Viva Magenta. I was inspired by a magnolia tree blossoming at the time and started to piece large curved blocks… which I didn’t like. So I cut the blocks up in smaller segments and added horizontal and vertical strips. I liked the play with curves and sharp straight lines which is also found in the simple straight line quilting.
