Although the quilt Our Nest is simple it holds a great meaning. My family collects nests that have fallen, and they are important to us because it seems they come to us at times of change, sorrow, or celebration. They feel like magic. We also admire how each nest is made uniquely, and each one is a work of art made out of the most simple materials. I wanted my quilt to show the simple beauty of nests. I made it for my mom because I think of our home as our nest and a place of love.
