My Iowa grandma taught me how to sew clothing and pillowcases, and she also showed me how to piece together a doll quilt. When I visited my Colorado grandma for spring break, I did my first art quilt. It was the first time I sewed both the piecing and the quilting. I looked in Grandma's stash and found pre-cut batik strips in rainbow colors. Then I found some paint splash fabric and went around the house tracing around different size circle objects. Grandma cut the circles while I sewed the strips together, and then I fused all the circles on the top all to look like floating bubbles. I quilted it all by myself, and Grandma sewed on the binding.
