The Zoomification of friendship during COVID was a great opportunity for a group of Toronto East End quilters to include friends from all over Toronto in our monthly get togethers. After years of wanting to create something together, inspiration from QuiltCon and some fun applique templates from MakeATX were the perfect catalyst. Using the constraints of the template shapes and a colour palette, we collaborated on a quilt whose blocks were as individual as each maker, but came together as a cohesive whole. Shape Salad is a great reflection of our friendship and what we share with each other: quirkiness, vibrancy, and warmth.
