Most of the quilts I make are meant to be used – on a bed or snuggled with on the couch. I approached this quilt differently, as one meant to hang on a wall as a piece of art. Inspired by the works of modern painters such as Mondrian and Kandinsky, I wanted bold colors and a strong composition. The placement-specific quilting adds interest and emphasizes the piecing.
