While playing with the layout of sawtooth stars I loved having them share boundaries but wanted there to be more negative space. This led to using the outlines of the stars and having them build a crystalline structure. I knew I wanted the stars to stand out which led to the use of bright colors against a black background. The last idea I had was to make it appear that the crystalline structure was breaking down and falling apart. This was the first quilt that I completely designed and made by myself and I am immensely proud of it!
