For this project I explored creating a design using only one simple block. The simplicity of the block is balanced out by the quantity of the block which makes the design feel more complex than it is. The paper pieced blocks were sewn into 9-patch units. The design was created by changing the orientation of each 9-patch, sometimes creating squares, sometimes creating “paths” that move across the quilt. Over 500 blocks were used and each one measures 3/4” x 3/4”.
