Always & Forever is my modern take on a traditional double wedding ring design. The circles are created using square and rectangular pieces, no curves necessary! Using the colors given us, I chose to use the purple/magenta fabrics as the background tones, creating a rich and ornate layer for the rings to float on top of. I chose to highlight a single ring in the Apple Green fabric. For me, the star of this quilt is the quilting. The motif is a free motion design I often use and is done densely so as to create a feeling that the quilt is vibrating. I used three colors of thread: black, hot pink, and bright yellow. I used the bright yellow thread mostly near the highlighted ring and created a feeling that the ring was leaving an essence or a yellow smoke was emanating off of it.
