Required Supplies: - Fabrics: Bring fabrics with high contrast. If you are feeling adventurous, you can bring some bold, large scale prints or stripes to contrast with solids or blenders. Bring a variety of fabrics for experimenting, or, if you have a particular color scheme in mind, bring that. This design would work well for fat quarters or large scraps.
- Tools & supplies: You will need basic sewing supplies including thread, pins
Optional Supplies: - Rotary cutter, ruler and small mat. Rotary cutters and mats will be provided but you can bring your own if desired
Precision Piecing is Sarah’s jam! She loves the way a series of precise lines and corners come together to create pattern and movement, and how a series of blocks and lines can pull the eye across a design from one end to the other. Sarah finds precision piecing quite liberating instead of stifling and she can’t wait to share her tips with students. She has been piecing for a long time and has developed tricks and techniques to take the drudgery out of precision piecing! Students will use foundation paper piecing, strip piecing, and careful cutting to build a catalog of precision piecing options. It’s all about precision, not perfection! Sewing machines generously provided by event sponsors!
