Required Supplies: Computer with Adobe Illustrator Creative Cloud installed. Support for earlier versions of Illustrator will be limited. The tablet version of Illustrator is not identical to the desktop and is not recommended. A trial version (unpaid and limited time access) of Illustrator may be used, but must be installed prior to the start of the workshop.
Optional Supplies: Please charge your laptop before the workshop. Power outlets will be available if needed.
Prep Requirements: Participants MUST be comfortable making, copying, modifying, basic shapes. Participants need to be familiar with the Illustrator interface including the tool bar, Properties and Layers panels, and the various menu options across the top of the workspace. This course will take your quilt designing skills to the next level! This workshop focuses on maximizing your efficiency as well as problem solving common tasks necessary for complex designs, i.e. combining and dividing shapes. Students will learn how to use symbols, actions, color palettes, and fabric swatches to realize all those quilt design ideas floating around in your head. This is a fast-paced class, and the content does not overlap with the morning beginner class. Students must bring their own laptop and power supply, with Adobe Illustrator installed and activated prior to class.
