Required Supplies: - Pencil & eraser (mechanical pencil is preferred)
- Highlighters (2 or 3 different colours)
- Graph paper – standard or dotted
- Small ruler (1” x 6” quilt ruler or school ruler)
- Picture of a quilt you would like to plan the quilting for. This should be a flat shot and can be a photo you have taken or an image from the quilt pattern. It would be advantageous to email a photo of the quilt to Melissa at marginet@live.ca at least 2 weeks prior to QuiltCon.

The hardest part of quilting your own quilt can be choosing the design. Working with pencil and paper*, Melissa will guide students through her method of creating custom edge-to-edge walking foot quilting plans. Students will combine six basic designs that provide endless possibilities. Students will also learn how to work beyond the six basic designs for a truly custom quilting plan. With Melissa’s guidance and expertise, this class will boost your confidence to quilt your own quilts.
*NOTE: Students can opt to design using a device and an application like Procreate, but instruction will not include application usage.
